COLUMBIA, SC (July 20, 2023) – On the way to work, a Lowcountry man stopped to play the Lottery and got paid $200,000.

“I was in shock,” the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.

He won the cash on a $5 Living Lucky with Luke Combs scratch-off that he picked out at the Obama Quick Stop at 3960 Dorchester Rd. in North Charleston. He says the first thing he did was sign his name to the back of that winning ticket.

And then he went to work. He went to work the next day, the day after that and for several days before taking time off to cash in his winning ticket in Columbia.

“I tried to no let it get to me,” he said. “It’s a blessing.”

The winner overcame odds of 1 in 750,000 to win the last top prize of $200,000 in the Living Lucky with Luke Combs game.

Obama Quick Stop in North Charleston received a commission of $2,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
