COLUMBIA, SC (September 20, 2024) – A Summerville lottery player has the store clerk to thank for his $200,000 win.
He was cashing in a small winning ticket at the Fast Break on Boone Hill Rd., when the clerk asked, “Do you want another card?” He wasn’t planning to buy a ticket but said “Yes.”
He picked out a $5 scratch-off and scanned it using the Lottery’s app. When the message said to “Claim at Lottery,” he knew it was a something special. He scratching the entire ticket to see how much he won.
“I was ecstatic,” he said, when he say the six-figure payday.
The winner told lottery officials that he wants to help his family and others with the winnings.
The odds of winning $200,000 in the Players’ Club game are 1 in 750,000. Two more top prizes remain in the game.
For selling the claimed ticket, Fast Break in Summerville received a commission of $2,000.
