COLUMBIA, SC (April 9, 2024) – A lottery player in the Lowcountry has a winning relationship with his mother-in-law. He let her scratch his lottery ticket, and her lucky touch won the family $200,000.
“I was outside when it happened,” the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials. “I was walking in the house, and I heard my wife yell, ‘You aren’t going to believe this!’”
When he saw the ticket that had all of his wife and mother-in-law’s attention, he was thrilled.
“It was awesome,” he said. “You
should have seen their faces.”
He picked out the life changing $5 scratch-off at the K K Mart store on Hwy. 78 in Ladson. The family is going to invest the prize money.
For selling the claimed ticket, K K Mart in Ladson received a commission of $2,000.
One top prize of $200,000 remains in the Emerald Green game at odds of 1 in 960,000.
