COLUMBIA, SC (December 3, 2020) – The same day an Anderson man cashed in a $250,000 winning lottery ticket he bought a new car.
He scratched his ticket to a new ride while sitting in his old one outside the Stop-A-Minit #14 on Pearman Dairy Rd. in Anderson where he bought the winning Carolina Black Diamond scratch-off.
“I was shocked,” he told lottery officials when he won. “It didn’t sink in until I got the check.”
He says his first purchase was a no brainer.
“I’ve wanted a new car for a while,” he said.
The Anderson player overcame odds of 1 in 585,000 to win $250,000 in the $10 Carolina Black Diamond game. Six top prizes remain in the game.
Stop-A-Minit #14 in Anderson received a commission of $2,500 for selling the claimed ticket.
