COLUMBIA, SC (December 7, 2023) – A customer left Sunny’s Quick Stop on S. Granard St. in Gaffney with a drink, a donut and more than a few extra dollars.
That morning he picked out a $5 lottery ticket, took it home to scratch, and then woke up his wife to tell her that he’d won $200,000 playing the Lottery.
“She didn’t believe me,” he told lottery officials.
His wife ordered him to take the ticket back to Sunny’s to find out how much he really won. He returned from the store singing the same tune, the ticket was a $200,000 winner.
“She got up and started getting ready then,” the winner laughed. The couple drove straight to Columbia to cash in the ticket.
The winner says soon they’ll be driving home to a new house.
For selling the claimed ticket, Sunny’s Quick Stop in Gaffney received a commission of $2,000.
One more top prize of $200,000 remains in the 5 Spot game at odds of 1 in 660,000.
